Gear Library
The HFAC Gear Library brings a dream to life in Los Angeles County. We recognize that many people want to explore the outdoors locally and experience the healing restorative powers of nature adventures. The burden of “gear” still keeps people from getting out there. The HFAC Gear Library can help serve that need.
Through yearly memberships or low-cost to no-cost pay-per-rental programs, we create opportunities for students and families to forge lasting memories and meaningful experiences in the great outdoors. Our focus is on fostering positive connections and unforgettable adventures through access to high-quality outdoor clothing and camping gear for all.
EQUIPMENT
Our Gear Library offers high-quality equipment and clothing to families and groups, eliminating cost barriers.
We work with both youth-serving organizations and individual community members and families.
TRAINING
Youth workers who complete one of our Outdoor Leadership Trainings (HLT, FLT, and WLT) are eligible to borrow gear from our Gear Library for their group at a reduced cost.

Who is this for?
Gear is available for students, families, and youth organizations that do not have the equipment to get outdoors comfortably. We also have gear for those that simply do not want to purchase and store gear because they don't camp much.

When renting gear, we have low-cost pricing that we have put together. If this is a hardship, we can offer an adjusted rate or a no-cost gear rental.
