Physics Comes to Life at Knotts Merry Farm!

Your children will never think about roller coasters that same after STEM physics comes to life in this fun-filled adventure at Knott's Merry Farm! 

This is a popular field trip, and we are so excited to host it for you again this year! 

Date: Tuesday, December 10, 2024

Start Time: Meet at 9:20 for check-in

End Time: Tour ends at 12, but stay for the day!

Cost: $65 per person, includes the STEM educational tour and all day entry to the park!

(Compare - Regular park entry without the tour is typically $82 online or $99 at the gate)

Ticket is good for all day entry to the park after the tour!

Parking is $30 at the gate

Students will learn about and experience energy in motion through the breakdown of the creative and mechanical engineering behind Knott's Berry Farm's various rides and attractions. Your student will gain a greater understanding of the science behind roller coasters and will discuss subjects such as centrifugal force, mass, inertia, and more while they experience how each concept relates to the rides.

There will be three different age groups with about five attractions that they will study (and ride!) during the tour. Knott's physics STEM instructors, and HFAC leaders/parent chaperones will be with students for the entire tour. Students and chaperones will participate on rides and will have the option of not riding something they may not be comfortable with. 

After the tour, students and families can stay and enjoy the park for the rest of the day! Before closing, we will meet up one more time to see if snow in Calico! This is a fun way to end the day together.

Parents are not required to attend the tour. If you would like to drop off your student for the tour, please let us know and we will reply with availability for this option. Email hfadventurecommunity@gmail.com

Notes:

-Knotts Berry Farm no longer accepts season passes for field trips

-Tickets are good for park entry as well as for the tour. Tours have a maximum participant number. When you sign up, make sure you sign-up for the proper grade level tour with the proper number of participants.

-All grades have grade-level STEM educational curriculum.

Grade 2-3 mild thrill level

Grades 4-5 will be mid-level thrill.

Grades 6+ will experience the most thrilling attractions

Please register your student for appropriate grade-level learning for the tour. 

Before and after the tour, they can enjoy the park with you and ride anything they are tall enough for. :)

While in the park outside of the tour, students must always be accompanied by an adult per Knott's chaperone policy.

Parents are welcome to join the tour with the purchase of a discounted adventure ticket through us.

Charter funds are accepted. Register using "Manual checkout" when asked for payment type. This will bypass payment and temporarily reserve your spot. Please contact your charter school for an enrichment certificate for a student + chaperone. They will send your certificate to us. Your spot is then confirmed! *On your purchase order, please put "Physics STEM Class" for December 10th.
