Students will learn that fear is an emotion that you can learn how to control. Risk taking is a healthy essential part of the learning process. Physical safety and emotional safety take precedence over all individual and program goals. By working with and supporting others in challenging situations, individuals develop leadership, communication, problem-solving and trust-building skills. Individuals choose the level and degree of their own participation. This provides an opportunity to meet potentially difficult or frightening challenges in a supportive and respectful environment, and a chance to back off when pressure and self-doubt become too strong. Although adrenaline rushes are part of what make our course exciting; education is our primary goal. The most successful programs take into account human nature to ensure the participant is in the best place to learn and grow.

What will the day look like?

The day will start with a gathering of the HFAdventure Community. We will settle in, meet each other, and get ready for our exciting day together! Our team will give everyone a safety talk before we get on the course.

The ropes challenge course built up to 60 feet above the ground. The three-tier course tests your agility, balance and strength on 4 to 32 fascinating obstacles (Burma Buckets, Criss-Cross, Tight Ropes, Zig Zag). Those who are participating are outfitted with harnesses and are clipped into cable systems that allow them to climb and participate in a variety of challenges safely. Participants can safely take risks while navigating physical challenges highlighting trust and support within teams.

Parents are welcome to drop their students off, join the fun, or stay to watch!

*We do recommend giving your students space on the course if you are not climbing. This is an opportunity for them to grow in a healthy way, make their own decisions, develop confidence, learn from our team, and participate with new and old friends.

Be prepared for your day on the Challenge Course:

*Come prepared with lots of energy, an open mind and a willingness to learn!

*Remember to pack a snack/meal and a water bottle.

*Please wear closed shoes, such as  boots or sneakers. You are not allowed to participate if you are wearing sandals or crocs. Long hair needs to be up  and pulled back in a bun or braid.

*Remember to dress for the weather which changes a lot! We will be spending all of our time outside so be prepared with weather-proof gear. Being comfortable outside will enable you to have fun and learn more!
