About the event
Hiking Club is all about getting outside with professional outdoor educators, staying active, and building confidence while exploring Glendora's beautiful trail system! Perfect for students looking for an active afternoon sport.
Each week, students hike a different local trail while developing practical hiking and outdoor skills, learning trail safety and Leave No Trace principles, observing local wildlife, and discovering the beauty of Southern California's natural spaces. Every hike is different, making each week a new adventure.
Trails are selected to match the group's age, ability, and experience, giving students the opportunity to gradually build strength, endurance, confidence, and resilience throughout the semester. We hike as a team, encouraging and supporting one another every step of the way. Students are never left behind...our goal is to help every hiker grow while enjoying the journey together.
Each week also features a Trail Skill of the Week, introducing students to practical outdoor skills such as navigation, weather awareness, backpack essentials, wildlife observation, hiking safety, and other skills that build confidence on the trail.
