About the event
Be transported back in time and experience the sights, sounds and smells of a Chumash village. This is an 8,000 year old village site!
The Wishtoyo Village Camp has a long history of providing cultural, marine science, fun and learn-
ing that is safe and wholesome. Their philosophy is one of respect for ourselves, one another and the natural environment around us.Â
Demonstrations are given through traditional storytelling and hands-on activities so participants can experience a typical day in a Chumash village, demonstrating how houses were built, clothes were made, and food was prepared using the available natural resources. *The activity presented on that day will depend on the presenter.
After our experience, the group will eat their packed lunch at the village. With HFAC educators, we will walk down to the beach to enjoy some free time and activities together.
Everyone will be required to have a ticket to go towards the donation to the Wishtoyo Village as well as administration fees through HFAC.
