Immerse yourself in the timeless art of crafting gourd bowls. Using traditional techniques inspired by age-old practices, you'll create a functional and beautiful vessel that connects us to the Earth and our shared human heritage.
Join us on Monday, January 20th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, for a hands-on experience in the outdoors. Perfect for nature lovers of all ages, this workshop blends creativity, traditional skills, and community. A big thank you to everyone's friend, Jim Robertson, from Aboriginal Skills for hosting this class with us.
🌿 What You’ll Do:
Craft your own beautiful gourd bowl, perfect for meals, drinks, or decoration.
Learn about various techniques to decorate your gourd, so you can take it home and finish it with your personal touch.
Learn how to create a carrying or hanging net for your bowl or canteen.
Watch a friction fire demonstration to kick off the day and enjoy the light of the fire on this winter day.
📌 Details:
Cost: $49 per gourd (a parent and student can work together on one or create their own).
Age: Recommended for students from 3rd - 12th grades
Class Type: Drop-off is okay for ages 12+, we ask parents to stay for ages 10 and under
Proceeds: Profits go directly toward supporting our youth scholarship programs. Thank you!

*Hosting a campfire is dependent on weather and approval from the Glendora Fire Department.
