Catalina Marine Science Adventure at Fox Landing

Join Healthy Footprints Adventure Community for an unforgettable marine science journey to Fox Landing, hosted by the expert educators at the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI). This immersive program invites students to dive into hands-on learning with real scientists while exploring the unique island ecosystems of Catalina.

Program Overview:

Students will snorkel over vibrant kelp forests, kayak through protected coves, hike scenic island trails, and engage in marine science labs covering oceanography, invertebrates, plankton, fish, and more. Each activity is led by CIMI’s professional educators, with support and guidance from HFAC instructors, who travel and participate alongside the students throughout the experience.

Adventure & Activities:

In addition to marine science exploration, students will challenge themselves on the high ropes swing, enjoy daily hikes with spectacular views, and unwind during free time with games like GaGa Ball and volleyball at the beachside camp. Evening activities include night snorkeling, a campfire under the stars, and climbing the rock wall lit up with music and lights for a memorable night experience.

About Fox Landing:

Located in a private cove on Catalina Island, Fox Landing offers a one-of-a-kind marine setting with beachfront access, tidepools, and open-air science labs. Students stay in beach-style cabins and enjoy meals together in a central dining hall, all just steps from the ocean.

After Camp Connection:

Students who attend CIMI with HFAC become part of our HFAC CIMI Cohort, a growing group of youth who’ve shared this incredible experience. Members are invited to exclusive gatherings throughout the year to reconnect with camp friends and continue exploring marine science together.
